Learn About Solar Power and Drones in April!

Submitted by on

Your days of going to school may be in the past, but that doesn't mean learning isn't in your future! Next month, National Park College will be offering two great courses covering solar power and drones right here in Hot Springs Village! These multi-day classes will teach you everything you need to know about these cutting-edge technologies!

Learn About Solar Power

Everyone knows that clean, renewable energy is a rapidly expanding field, and solar is leading the way! In this class, students will learn about all the fundamental components needed for a complete solar power system.

The 5-part solar power course will meet each Monday in April (April 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center. Registration costs $99 per person and can be done here. Space is limited, so don't wait!

Learn About Drones

You've certainly heard about drones, but you might not know exactly what they are! Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (sUAV) have a seemingly endless number of recreational, commercial, and military applications, making them one of the hottest gadgets around! In this class, you will learn about drone types, technology, safe operation, legal issues, purchasing, business and career opportunities, and of course, flying! Basic drone units will be provided for use, but feel free to bring your own.

The drone course overlaps with the solar power course, so you'll have to choose your favorite! This will be a 3-part class taking place on Mondays, April 9th, 16th, and 23rd, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center. Registration for this course is $89 and can be done here. As with the solar power course, seating is limited, so don't delay!
