Celebrate Lake Balboa's 30th Birthday!

Submitted by on

Can you believe that Lake Balboa is turning the big 3-0? Depending on your perspective, it may seem amazing that the lake has already been around for 30 years, or amazing that it has ONLY been around for 30 years! Either way, this seems like a good excuse for a party! On September 2 and 3, join Boomers Rock, the Balboa Yacht Club, and the HSV Recreation Department as they celebrate three decades of fun with Lake Balboa.

Things will kick off on Friday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m. with live music by the No Refund Band and a bonfire! These events are both totally free! In addition, for just $5 ($7 at the door) you can buy an advance ticket to the evening's Dive-In Movie, Jaws, which will appropriately be shown on Balboa Beach! Click here to purchase your tickets today!

The celebration continues throughout the day on Saturday, September 3 with a Radio Controlled Flyers demo, kayak and paddle board demos, beach games, a scavenger hunt, a frozen t-shirt contest, birthday cake and ice cream, and a sandcastle building contest! At 6:30 p.m., a Sunset Serenade will mark the beginning of the evening festivities, followed by music and dancing at 8 p.m. courtesy of Taylormade, a rock group from Little Rock.

All these great events will be happening at Balboa Beach and the Balboa Pavilion, located at 476 Ponce de Leon Drive. Don't miss it!
