Some highlights in the latest issue include:

SPEAKeasily Dinner Theater: On August 13-15, experience the prohibition-era Crystal Mine Club and Alibi Gambling Room (A.K.A. the Coronado Community Center) Grand Opening Gala. The event will feature gambling, a full cash bar, and a performance of the original dinner theater production SPEAKeasily, written by Hot Springs Village residents Jerry Davis and Mary Lou Moran. Join the Hot Springs Village Players, Hot Springs Village Recreation, and Boomers Rock for this fantastic summer event! Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately, considering the time period. Tickets are limited, so be sure to reserve yours today! Green Market: Stop by any Thursday between 8 a.m. and noon to find delicious home-baked goods, soup mixes, vegetables, meat, eggs, fruits, handcrafted items and more. Located in Grove Park at 1105 DeSoto Boulevard, the Green Market provides everyone with an opportunity to support local farmers! Be sure to watch for extended hours on particularly bountiful weeks!

Urban Deer Hunt Registration Extended: September 1st is the starting date for the archery-only Hot Springs Village Urban Deer Hunt! If you thought you had missed your chance to participate, then you're in luck! Registration has been extended until August 14th. The season runs through February 28, 2016. Reels and Grills Event Tonight!

The latest event in Hot Springs Village Basecamp's 100 Days of Summer is happening tonight, July 17th, around 8 p.m. (or whenever it gets dark). Tonight's event, titled Reels and Grills, will feature a free showing of the documentary "All the Time in the World", by Suzanne Crocker. Information and a trailer for the movie can be found at the film's website. The showing will take place in Grove Park at 1105 DeSoto Boulevard. Admission is free, and HSV Basecamp encourages everyone to bring a chair!

The "grills" half of the event will feature BBQ, sandwiches (including Reubens, Cubanos and Chef Porter’s signature “Hamsfire” pulled pork), and beverages by Louis Williams of Next Level Barbecue and the Ronin Chef T. Porter Montgomery. Meals will typically range between $5 and $8 in price. Be sure to bring your appetite!
