Yard Waste Rules That Need to Followed In Hot Springs Village

Submitted by on

leavesIt’s officially Fall/Autumn and it is time to deal with all the leaves that have been falling in our yards. Hot Springs Village has certain rules and regulations that accompany the removal of yard waste.

The first thing to know is that a yard waste tag is required for each biodegradable that will be picked up. These tags can be purchased at the POA Office for the price of $ 0.50 per bag. The POA office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday the office will be closed Thanksgiving Day (November 26th) as well as the Friday (November 27th) following the holiday.

Once the bags are purchased and you have filled them with the yard waste you must place them within 5 feet of the edge of the road. The lawn/yard waste bags can be purchased at most hardware stores, Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Lowe’s. The yard waste must be in bags and weigh no more than 40 pounds. Each time you set up a collection time there is a limit of 50 bags per collection period.

If you have any large limbs that need to be picked up they must be a length of four feet or less and be no more than 3 inches in diameter. They must be bundled and they are also limited to the 40 pound restriction.

Be sure to not dispose of any leaves or yard waste into any lake, onto any golf course property or anywhere that is considered common property. This is not allowed.

Yard waste does not get placed with your regular weekly trash pick-up. You have to call the Sanitation Department at 501-922-5524 to schedule a time for the bags to be picked up. Please adhere to the weight and number of bags limit when setting up a pick-up time.
